IPHI – Independent Bureau for Humanitarian Issues

In the summer of 2008 BORAM produced four TV spots for IBHI as part of a project to “Support Disability Policy Development in Bosnia and Herzegovina”. The main objective of the project was to establish an adequate system of social protection, with full recognition of the rights and opportunities of disabled people. The project supported the harmonization of legal and social protection for disabled people. TV spots featured citizens with various kinds of disability – blindness, hearing impairment, and those who are physically or intellectually challenged. Spots were broadcast throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“Kako u Evropu” Quiz (Which Way to Europe)

One of the most extensive intercultural projects run by BORAM was the “Kako u Evropu” quiz, which involved hundreds of students from every part of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Nineteen high schools took part, and nine shows were recorded and broadcast on BHT1.
The winner of the competition was Gradiška High School, which beat Enver Pozderac High School from Goražde in an exciting final. Prizes were awarded by Marc Vanbrabant, First Counsellor at the European Commission Delegation, and Osman Topčagić, Director of the Directorate for European Integration. First prize was a study trip to Brussels, with visits to Ljubljana, Vienna, Munich, and other cities en route. The trip gave students an opportunity to learn more about European history and EU institutions.
