Campaign for establishing Climate Diplomacy Week

Projects

The effects of climate change will increasingly shape our security in the coming years. Our physical environment is now in a state of flux, posing significant challenges to how societies function. This may have serious economic, social and political consequences for entire regions. Countries with varied adaptation capacities will be able to handle the impacts in different ways, while many developing countries and fragile states that lack established and stable institutions are likely to be hit hardest. To address these challenges, a new profile of climate diplomacy is evolving to make use of a full range of policies, including development cooperation, conflict prevention efforts, and humanitarian assistance, in addition to more traditional measures of climate change adaptation and mitigation.

The climate action week lasted from June 5 to 10, 2022. During that period, a series of activities were held throughout the country with the participation of national and international officials, experts and young people from all over the country, with the aim of emphasizing that climate change is a challenge that can only be overcome by joint efforts.

The year 2022 is the European Year of Youth, and to this end, a part of the Climate Action Week in BiH strongly focused on the role of young people, with the aim of educating them about the importance of their specific involvement and giving them an opportunity to be active participants and players in future actions.

BORAM provided communication services, having organised a range of topical events in Bosnia and Herzegovina and a major conference in the Parliament of BiH „Week of Climate Action“. It created the visual identity of the week, produced media and promotional materials, implemented a campaign and secured PR coverage of these and all other events organised during this week. Over 100 articles were published in the media about these activities.
