During this phase, the project highlighted the outcomes of the consultative community meetings held in eight cities of BiH: Istočno Sarajevo, Trebinje, Bijeljina, Doboj, Zenica, Livno, Bihać, Mostar, and the final event in Banjaluka. These meetings addressed pertinent topics such as the rule of law, political tendencies, local freedom of speech dynamics, transparency of judiciary, corruption etc. In an effort to ensure a diverse representation of participants, considerations were given to ethnic and political backgrounds, urban-rural disparities, and community population size, while ensuring representation of the judicial community, institutions, CSOs and media. Attendees from 45 neighbouring cities were invited, ensuring a broad spectrum of input. The culmination event in Banjaluka drew an audience of 75, with 13 media representatives.
The Media and CSOs Outreach on Rule of Law initiative helped raising awareness, knowledge in the area of rule of law enhancing the quality, pertinence and reach of information on the issues pertaining to the EUSR mandate through engagement with judiciary, media, youth and civil society organisations. It identified steps to be taken in order to advance in the RoL reforms and in relation to policy changes in communities across the country.
BORAM organised all 9 events providing complete technical and logistic support, and ensured the presence of participants at the events. It conducted a survey, analysis, prepared conclusions, technical contents, promotional materials and content for the campaign. It secured the PR coverage of the events (announcement and press release, coordination of press conferences, monitoring.
